JAKE: (A senior dog needing a home for his best years.) 8 or 9 year old neutered male. He self entertains himself with a large ball even just a simple metal dog food pan. He loves people and respects a 4 foot fence. He is great with all female dogs and has been very good with male fosters that are friendly with other males. Has a nice recall when called. Barclay:  (aka Phantom) is a five year old neutered male who is current on his shots and is microchipped.  He is very sweet and loving to those people he knows, but is quite shy around strangers.  He is not an alpha dog at all.  He gets along with other dogs very well and would like a home with at least one other dog.  He came from a hoarding situation and was obviously under-socialized as quick movements and loud noises frighten him.  A previous adopter reported Barclay had separation anxiety when she left him in her apartment to go to work.  I have had no such problems with him, but here he has a lot of land to run on and 4 other dogs to hang with.  He is playful and has about medium energy.  Barclay is located in northern San Diego County.  You need to have an application on file to visit this dog. Sadie: is a three year old pure bred female. She is very loving and friendly to those she knows, but can be aggressive to those she does not know. She prefers men over women and is generally friendly with other dogs, although she can be jealous of attention to others. All introductions both human and animal need to be closely monitored. Young children are not recommended as she tends to nip and charge at them when they move quickly. She knows basic commands and comes when she is called. Sadie has a tremendous amount of energy and needs a home that can give her a job or a lot of exercise. "I have a big back yard" doesn't cut it for this dog. She is very athletic and would do well in agility or perhaps with someone who runs or hikes. A very special home is needed - one with owners who are very experienced with insecure dogs and willing to make the effort to spend a lot of time with her.
