These are dogs in
care of Border Collie Rescue of California. These dogs are temperament
tested, have some training, and are fully evaluated.
SLY:
week old Black/white smooth coat male. Great with other dogs, has been
socialized with children before going to his new foster home. Leash
trained, and likes to go for car rides. He is updated on all his puppy
shots. A cuddler and a boy that likes to lay at your feet and be with you.
Sly is being fostered by a wonderful family that lives on a military base
so he gets lots of action by all the troops and their families, along with
the foster homes own dogs. He also likes to go visit the base vet for
check ups. Sly is neutered. Available now in So. California.

BANDIT:
14 month old neutered Black/white smooth coat Border Collie/Lab mix. He lost
his home due to his family losing their home and having no place to keep
Bandit. He is much a house dog that wants to be with his people. He gets along
well with other dogs, but is learning how to play with them. He was an only dog
for a year in his home before he lost it. He is neutered, current on shots, and
chipped. Rides wonderful in a car without being crated, walks well on leash -
he really loves young boys and bonded instantly to one of our kennel helpers
that is 14 years old, and then my grandson when he came over to do some repairs
on the swamp cooler. All Bandit wanted was to be with the boys. Available now in So. California.

This is Max. This pic was taken 2 months ago. He now
has a very nice black & white, shiny wavy coat. Max was found
wondering on the railroad tracks. He was picked up by a kind animal lover,
who desperately tried to find his owners. Max really needs a home to call
his own. We think he may be mixed with a little lab. He is with out a doubt
cute and loveable. Anyone interested in meeting Max can contact Liz
Norman @ (951)769-8144, or email her at… kritrkamp2@msn.com.

BRISCO:
I found Brisco running down the middle of a busy street about a year ago. When
I discovered that he has an AVID microchip, I made an attempt to
find his owner. After several phone calls I found that no one knew where
the owner was or how I could reach her. Since I knew he had a home but
did not know where to take him, I took him to the local shelter so they could
follow the proper channels to find his owner. They sent a letter to the
last known address stating that they had her dog and that she had a certain
amount of time to come get him or he would be put up for adoption. She
never responded so when he was put up for adoption I picked him up. I
took him home knowing full well that he may not become a permanent member of
our family but decided that he would be better off being a "foster"
dog here then sitting in the shelter alone. I work for a local
veterinarian and he guessed that Brisco was about 18 months old when I found
him. We also guessed that he is probably a border collie - australian
shepherd mix. He was already neutered when I found him and weighs about
45 pounds. He is now up to date on all his vaccines (Rabies, DHLPP, and
Rattlesnake), he tested negative for heartworms and is currently on heartworm
prevention. He is a very sweet dog and gets along great with my other 2
dogs (a 10 year old neutered Lab, and an 8 1/2 year old spayed
Bassett mix). I also have 4 cats. He has shown no aggressive
tendencies towards them, however he is obsessed with hearding them (go figure)
and wound probably be more relaxed in home without cats. I don't have
kids so I don't know how is around small children. I have had him around
many other dogs and he has never gotten aggressive even when challenged.
I have also taken him out into very crouded public settings and he is very
polite and happy to let strangers pet him. He is house trained, cr ate
trained, and has completed a basic obedience course and did great. He
knows "sit", "down","stay", "wait",
"heal", "outside", "in your house", and
"around" (that one's my favorite). I will keep him here with me as
long as it takes to find him the appropriate home. I don't want him
to go back to the shelter and I don't want him to end up a backyard disaster.
I want him to go to someone who knows what kind of dog they are getting and has
a job for him to do. My name is Becky and if anyone has any questions
or would like to meet Brisco, I can be reached by email at beckyrenee7@aol.com
or 530-680-4388.
